I'm pleased to announce the 2011 Acts 29 Brazil National Conference. For more information in portuguese, please visit this link, where you can also register.
If you are a church planter, or you are re-planting a church, or a pastor who is interested in church planting, or even introducing Gospel change in your church, this may just be the conference for you.
In May last year nearly 100 pastors from eight states in Brazil convened for the first annual Acts 29 Brazil conference. Acts 29 is a network that was co-founded by Pastor Mark Driscoll in 2001, and has rapidly spread to a network of over 400 churches throughout North America, and several throughout the world as well.
We are a network that is radically shaped by the Gospel and it’s implications and demands for all of life. We believe that the Gospel both informs and transforms us in all that we do.
This year’s theme is “A Chamada do Evangelho”. We are looking at the Gospel Call to plant churches that are wholistic in nature – meaning that they are much more than just Sunday services – they are churches that radically reshape the communities around them. We will look at the Call of the Gospel as it affects all areas of our lives – church, family, mission, community, leadership development, and justice - just to name a few.
Our keynote speaker is Steve Timmis, who is an experienced pastor, church planter, and leads Acts 29 Western Europe. Steve has authored the book “Total Church” which has been a leading book on missional church planting, which has been translated to Portuguese and will be available at the conference. Also joining us is Chan Kilgore, who has planted dozens of churches in Florida (EUA), and sits on the Executive board of Acts 29 in the US. Additionally, we will have experienced pastor and church planter Antonio Carlos Costa, who is on the frontline of justice issues here in Brasil.
How is Acts 29 Distinctive?
Acts 29 is a church planting network, that is focused on planting missional, culturally-aware churches, contextualizing the Gospel from an evangelical, reformed worldview. We are complementarian, missional, reformed, and open to the work of the Holy Spirit.
