Thought I would just take a few minutes and share about our recent trip to the US. It was a refreshing two weeks or so, seeing many friends and family.
One thing that was great was participating in two of CrossPointe's services in the new facility. I also was able to lead a song in the opening service, which was cool. The new facility is really amazing. I am so happy for CrossPointe, as well as for Vision360 and Converge Worldwide, who are all sharing the building.
I joke with the CrossPointe staff that I am so happy for them I could cry. Pastor Ryan Walker has one of the best offices in the facility, which would have been my office I guess. (But now in Brazil I get to have a glorified first grade classroom to share with two other pastors - all for the Gospel, I guess!)
Besides seeing our CrossPointe friends, we had an opportunity to spend time with my family, down from Wisconsin and New Hampshire. My sister made a surprise visit with my niece Rachel and we had a great time together.
On Wednesday night, Sept 1, we held a Restore Brazil dinner for individuals financially investing in our ministry. It was held at our friend's house Greg & Dottie Clendenin. We showed four videos of our work in the past year - Year in Review Summary, Rio de Paz, the City of God Church Plant, and a video from our experiences in the Brazilian prisons. It was a night of celebration for what God has done in the first 11 months or so of our ministry in Brazil.
We took a trip to South Florida to meet with friends like Pastor Tommy Kiedis of Spanish River Church. I also had an opportunity to connect with Ryan from The Church Planting Network. We look forward to seeing ways of partnering together in the future.
Another blessing was meeting with Jerry & Dee Sheveland, the president of Converge Worldwide. He is a great visionary leader and had some excellent counsel for us.
We connected with Pastor Chan & Stacy, as well as Jamie, Jared, and Brian from CrossPointe.
Our time at Connection Church in Kissimmee was awesome! I think this may be one of the friendliest churches I've ever been to. God is really using Pastor Rick.
We had many other meetings with friends (some old and new) and family, too many to mention. It was a great trip, thanks to all who met with us and prayed for us.
Despite all of this, glad to be back in Rio, which really does feel like home.
Jay, it was really a pleasure to have met you. I am grateful that you are committed to Brazil as I am. Please send me your email through FB or DM me on Twitter so that we can stay connected. Also, the link to check out Gospel Boot Camp dates will always be available at www.gospelbootcamp.org. 2011 Dates prob won't be up until November though.
God Bless you Brother!
